In 2017, one of my New Year’s resolutions was to get serious with my skincare. And like almost every skincare noob, I wanted a 10-step Korean skincare routine and slapped on all these hyped products I could afford, whether they’re a match for my skin type or not. (Yikes! Lol.)

But with breakouts and waste come great skincare wisdom.

The objective of this blog is to share the best bang-for-your-buck skincare products with the belief that a good skincare routine doesn’t have to be expensive.

I also aim to educate people about the basics of skincare science so they can navigate around marketing claims, branding, and price tags and make smart purchasing decisions.

I’m not a dermatologist or cosmetic chemist or a chemistry PhD holder. I’m just an ordinary consumer, learning from some of them.

My Current Skincare Routine

Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash. Water-based, SLS-free, PH-balanced cleanser. Been using this for 3 years-ish.

COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid. I use this as a spot treatment too to flatten out zits faster—even cystic ones!

iWhite Whitening Vita Aqua Moisturizer. Cheapest hyaluronic acid product in the market! Also loaded with vitamins and skin-caring ingredients!

Innisfree Intensive Triple Care Sunscreen. My current sunscreen and MORE. Sheer white cast and great oil control. When set with powder, doesn’t budge against excessive sweat and oil.

Biore Cleansing Oil. Effectively removes my sunscreen with the least effort. Emulsifies well but gentle on the skin, doesn’t dry me out.

Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash.

COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid. Every each other night. Helps me treat acne and slough off whiteheads and blackheads easier.

iWhite Whitening Vita Aqua Moisturizer. Again, cheapest hyaluronic acid product in the market!
